I was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. I grew up in the Mennonite Brethren church (not to be confused with any version of Amish), and I was surround by Christian believers all my life. When I was 9 years old, I accepted the Lord as my Savior and have been on the journey to seek Him out and live to bring Him glory in my life. When I was in middle school, I officially caught the reading and writing bug. On long car trips I’d imagine up plot lines and even jotted several short stories down. In high school, I took Creative Writing classes, in pursuit of writing a real book.
I had had the dream of writing a full novel since elementary school. When I sat down to write, I knew storytelling was the way to go; however, more than weaving together a cohesive plot, I wanted to bring the Gospel into the lives of my characters and speak to my audience. In order to achieve this goal, I add Scripture and Jesus' life-changing Truth to my novels. Setting me apart from the rest as an independent author, I am able to insert much more into my work. When I am not writing, I teach 2nd grade near my hometown in Kansas, where I live with my husband and two kids. Dreams of July is my debut novel, Gathering up the Stones is my second. And many more to come! Blessings, |
